i'm baaaaaaaaack.

whew!

what a crazy two week transition it has been! going from a full time stay at home mom, to a full time - baby missing - working mom. man i miss her while i am gone, but it it slowly getting easier by the day. i live to see her cutie face when i beg cj to send me like five pictures a day of her. going back to work has been a blessing for my entire family! it could not have came at a better time.

i cherish the few hours we have in the evening together while cj is at work. she makes me complete and not being able to physically see her at my desire makes me appreciate those special hours that much more.

who would have thought just a mere two years ago this is how we would want to spend our saturday evenings? with a bald little lady, in a swing in a park, watching run-a-way ice cream man flee for his life!

just look at those dangling feet.

it seems that every time i want to video her, we dont have the video camera. sorry for the crap quality.

nothing in this post has to do with the other.

so let me just start out by saying i had a fantastic time meeting [mrs. trophy wife] and her a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e flirt baby, sully. did i say he was adorable? well, he is! we met today at california pizza kitchen and chatted about everything from cloth diapering, to how close we lived to each other, and MUST meet again. soon. all while our kiddos were munching on mum mums and flirting with one another.

i look like some ethnicity that i am not [caucaisianese?] and what is my left arm doing?! gosh i'm weird. please excuse my child, she doesn't like anyone stealing her lime light.

she is just as charming in person, as on her blog. seriously y'all. i know that not everyone is truthful in their blogs. not necessarily with the content, but more like the person behind the keyboard. some people use blogging to channel an inner part of ones self that is hard to emit in real life. you could be ridiculously witty in your blog-o-sphere, but dry as a corn flake in real life. i was a little apprehensive about meeting her, not because i was scared, but because i was afraid we would have that awkward silence every now and again. totally didn't happen. she is such a breath of fresh air i cannot wait to do it again!

..............................................................................................

in later news, i got another job offer - that i eagerly accepted! that's right... two in one week?! is the sky falling? and the best part of all, its a job in healthcare as a phlebotomist! what a way for me to get my foot in the door at a company that i sooo wanted to work for! i was so excited i thought about ordering this douchebag ed hardy wanna be phlebotomy shirt.

whoever designed that shirt, needs to be shot. or stuck with 1,000 needles.

but i didn't because, well. LOOK AT IT!

hard part is, i have to tell the first company that i must retract their offer. any tips? advice? the first job offer was part time but closer to my house. the second was further, but full time. i really struggled with what would be the best decision for my family, since this will be my first real post-baby job.

..............................................................................................

right now, i officially hate my phone. well, for today, and probably until tuesday when my replacement comes. to have a phone that is marketed with "crystal clear reception" my droid sounds like my voice is being put through a tunnel, then bound and gagged. i literally had to spell my first name to the rude receptionist lady that called to confirm my doctors appointment yesterday. it went a little something like this. i think.

"c" - as in i cannot talk any louder.
"r" - as in i really hate you right now.
"y" - as in i am yelling through my phone at you, puta.
"s" - as in skank, this is getting ridiculous.
"t" - as in time to look for another receptionist, mr. doctor.
"a" - as in apple :)
"l" - as in you have lousy phone etiquette.

i wish i could be that rude in real life sometimes.

the one where i summon the higher powers for a job.

we won't get into any religious viewpoints on my blog, i'm sure mine are much different than most.

this whole "being unemployed" thing is not working for me or my ego anymore. i have been busy with school and clinicals for the past ten weeks so it hasn't seemed that bad, but if you have been a reader for a while, you may remember THIS. i have not had a full time job since. le sigh. eff you economy, eff you.

don't get me wrong, if it were in the cards [so to speak] for me to be able to be a part time SAHM, i totally would, but i need to "work hard for the money... so hard for it honey". to keep up with our lifestyle and to keep up with my sanity.

with my final exam for Phlebotomy this week, thursday [april fools day, who does that?!?] i am feeling the pressure even more to get a job in the field i have decided to pursue. maybe pressure was the wrong word. no one is pressuring me, especially cj, but i have been applying to various sites with no avail. everytime my phone rings, i am hoping it is a number i don't recognize with a friendly voice on the other line saying, "what time would you like to set up an interview?". or even better "your resume format is outstanding, you must be a spectacular person, you've got the job!".

i live in the land of healthcare, or so i hear. i'm just waiting for that call to get my foot in the door.

be thinking about me on thursday morning, and until i make an obnoxious blog post about my new job. i will love you forever.

smooches.

my precious tivo has suffered the brunt of my school work load.

Oh how i miss thy blessed tv shows. i am pretty sure that i have not watched anything other than the five o'clock news since monday. le sigh.

in between school from 8am to noon monday thru thursday, working part time on random days, playing with with my sweet v, cooking dinner, doing wife things, laundry, showers, diapers, a shit ton of homework, and just being plain ol' tired my tivo is currently at 62% capacity. that's a lot of shows ya'll.

i knew going back to school was going to be an adjustment, but dang.... i miss my beloved real world , the season finale of jersey shore [fist pumpin' like a mofo], american idol, toddlers and tiaras [creeptastic, but i cannot tear my eyes away] and many many more. hopefully we will get some much needed TLC with each other over the weekend, because its supposed to "snow" here, better get your milk and bread while you can people! <-- a total southern thing that i will never understand.

after reading the aforementioned verbiage i realize that i may have never blogged about what i am going [back] to school for. phlebotomy. i know, run to google, because very few people actually know what that is. here is what dictionary.com says it is...

"–noun, plural -mies. Medicine/Medical. the act or practice of opening a vein for letting blood as a therapeutic measure; venesection; bleeding."

i'll basically be the person most people dread the most when going to the doctor or hospital. i'm going to be the lady with the needles! yay! you know the one you hate that makes you sit on a chair with your arm and hand palm up, ties the rubber death contraption at the top of your arm to look for those big juicy veins, then just when you least expect it. BAM. needle in the vein. yep, that's going to me, otherwise known as your phlebotomist. - not to be confused with a heroin addict.

sure beats working in office all day, which i used to think was for me, but i'm tired of competing with the other 3847923 people looking for jobs. it was time for a change. i have to make this work. wish me luck.

fired.

I promise, this is baby related.

To make a long story short, I was pretty close with my immediate supervisor at work who just had a baby 6 months ago. SO, naturally when I found out I was pregnant I told ONLY her to get some support from someone who had just been through the whole deal, she advised me to keep in on the DL at work for the time being (which I had planned on doing anyways). I actually told her the same day I told DH. About 3 weeks ago. We corresponded via email everyday about my pregnancy.

Fast forward to last Thursday. I come into the office, everyone is being extremely distant, I didn't think toooooo much of it until I get back from lunch and pretty much none of the managers would even look at me. I knew something was up for sure. 3:30 rolls around and I get called into the human resource managers office. I knew I was getting ready to get in trouble for something, but I had no clue what for. So, I sit down, he closes the door. In a not so sympathetic tone he says "we had a customer service complaint on you, and we are going to have to let you go". I stare at him for what seems like 5 minutes before I said, "from who?". He said "we do not have to disclose that to you." I asked him to give me a little more information to let me try to understand this. He again said, "that doesn't matter, the complaint was about you". At this point I am in utter shock. I have never even had a VERBAL warning from this company about anything, especially a customer complaint. At this point, they are escorting me to my desk and watching me like I am a criminal clean out my belongings. Completely embarrassed by the whole situation, I don't say a word and walk out of that place with my pride intact.

I get home about 4:00pm and DH is confused as to why I am there. In a feat of rage, I yelled "I got fired." I HAVE NEVER BEEN FIRED FROM ANY JOB IN MY LIFE! I proceed to tell him that there was no grounds to fire me based on the information that he provided me (or lack there of) and I told DH that I am 100% positive that my immediate supervisor (who, remember, KNEW about my pregnancy) had spilled the news to the big dogs about me being pregnant and wanted to get me outta there before "I" said anything about it to them. They had to think of some lame-o excuse about how I had a complaint, when in fact I had never received a verbal or even written warning about any of my conduct at work. I even received an email about a week before I told my manager about the baby, about how good of an employee I was and that she wanted to see me excel in the company... (good thing I saved that email & the ones where her and I were talking back and fourth about the baby) Thank you gmail for not deleting those emails... they are going to come in handy when I go to the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission on Friday and make sure that they received my complaint that I filed claiming I was fired because of the fact that I was pregnant. This company has not seen the last of Crystal, if I have anything to say about it.

PS. you would think that a company that I had to go through THREE interviews with to get the job, would have some sort of "coaching" or "three strikes rule" in place if something like this happens. Just seems a little fishy to me and everyone else I have told for that matter.

I guess I didn't give you the short version, sorry.
